Ed-Mail - Free Classroom Wall Chart for Countdown to Six Billion

On June 16, 1999, the United Nations will announce an important milestone in human history -- the world population reaching six billion people.

To help teachers prepare students for this global demographic event, Zero Population Growth's Population Education Program has developed a free, colorfully illustrated wall chart that includes interesting facts and figures for every month of the school year leading up to the U. N. announcement next June. For example, if it was your job to count all day long and you could count 100 numbers every minute for eight hours a day five days a week, it would take you almost a month to reach one million and 500 years to reach six billion!
